London Best Parks #1: Kyoto Garden, Holland Park

If you're looking for a place to spend the day with family or friends, then Holland Park and Kyoto Garden are the perfect spots. Located just minutes away from each other, these two parks offer plenty of activities for everyone.

Holland Park is home to a conservatory, lake, and maze. Inside the conservatory you'll find everything from plants and flowers to butterflies flying around. The lake is perfect for kayaking or paddle boarding if you're feeling adventurous! And if you're afraid of getting lost in the maze, don't worry—there are maps available so that you can make sure to get out before dark.

Kyoto Garden is also home to a conservatory as well as beautiful Japanese architecture and sculptures. You'll find pathways leading through the garden that are lined with cherry blossoms in springtime! There's also an outdoor tea room where visitors can sit down and relax while enjoying some tea and snacks (available only during certain times).

This blog will outline a review of Kyoto Garden and Things to do in Holland Park.

Description and Review of the Garden

Holland Park is a small park located in centre-west London. Kyoto Garden is located inside Holland Park and it is one of the many places to visit inside it.

Inside the garden, you may find cherry blossoms (sakura) which usually bloom at the end of spring (between March 20 and April 14). You can also find koi fish in the water, a small waterfall, and other typical Japanese structures!

I do recommend visiting the garden during peak season. If you are for a visit, you may want to try visiting it in the morning.

💡
The garden is really small and has a small 5 minute path to wander around. You may also find several people especially during peak season as this is the most visited spot in the park.

Why is Kyoto Garden a Japanese park?

Kyoto Garden was gifted to London by the city of Kyoto in 1991 for the friendship between Japan and the UK. It has a Japanese-style landscape with multiple Japanese structures.
